The Doctors of Audiology at Complete Hearing are the first Audiologists in the Lincoln, Nebraska area to offer the diagnostic assessment of cochlear implant candidacy, cochlear implant mapping, fitting, and assessment of cochlear implant devices. We are pleased to offer our patients with moderate to profound hearing loss an opportunity to experience more options for hearing clarity beyond hearing aids alone.

While hearing aids amplify sounds, as hearing loss progresses those sounds may also need to be made more clear. Using hearing aids can be like listening to a loud, badly tuned radio for those with moderate to profound hearing loss. Hearing implants, like Cochlear™ implant solutions, and Bone Anchored Hearing Aids offer sound clarity and treat a range of hearing loss types including high frequency hearing loss, moderate to profound sensorineural hearing loss, conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, and single-sided deafness.

Complete Hearing offers three unique cochlear implant options from Cochlear™, including the Cochlear™ Nucleus® Implant, the Cochlear™ Hybrid™ Hearing system, and the Cochlear™ Baha™ System.

The Cochlear™ Nucleus® Implant‎ treats moderate to profound sensorineural hearing loss by mimicking the natural hearing function of the inner ear. Sounds are made both louder and clearer as they bypass the damaged part of the ear. The external sound processor, located either behind-the-ear or off-the-ear, picks up sounds and converts them to digital information that is then transferred to the Nucleus® implant just under the skin. The implant sends the sounds down an electrode to the cochlea where the hearing nerve fibers send the sounds to the brain to interpret as sound.

The Cochlear™ Hybrid™ Hearing system combines the technology and clarity production of a cochlear implant with the amplification benefits of a hearing aid for people that are able to hear high-frequency and low-frequency sounds with different proficiencies.

The Cochlear™ Baha™ System helps those with single-sided deafness, conductive, or mixed hearing loss by transferring sound vibrations through an implant in the bone down to the inner ear, where they are then converted into electrical impulses by the hair cells of the cochlea and perceived as sound naturally.

If you are experiencing high frequency hearing loss, moderate to profound sensorineural hearing loss, conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, or single-sided deafness, contact the Doctors of Audiology at Complete Hearing to discuss whether hearing implants, like Cochlear™ implant solutions and Bone Anchored Hearing Aids, may be right for you.
