Changes Reported in Hearing and Tinnitus Post COVID-19

The unknown long-term health implications for people who have had COVID-19 reach beyond the respiratory system. 

As we’ve seen prolonged anosmia (loss of smell), there may also be other long-term health consequences for other organ systems. 

Recent studies are showing that more than 1 in 10 COVID-19 adults report a change in their hearing status, when questioned eight weeks after discharge from the hospital.

As we see the incidence of otologic symptoms on the rise in our own practice, we are diligently tracking the effects of COVID-19, as well as longstanding risks on the audio/vestibular system.
